Club Member W.M. Stalcup says he's very exited to be selected to go to India as part of a Rotary National Immunizaton Day project. In his words, "I had been keeping an eye out for a NID trip to India because in 2002ish I had signed on for a Rotary NID trip but, due to back surgery complications, I had to cancel that trip. Frankly, it seemed a bit crazy to just do a two day NID trip & not couple it with something else.

I leave on 2/11 for what they are calling The Rotary Dream Team – India 2014. This will be the 5th year that Rotarians have assembled to build a dam to help increase crop production in a semi-desert area by 50% in a state within India where the starvation level is the highest in all of India.

We will also lead a NID Rally to spread awareness and the following day participate in a NID day in immunizing hundreds of kids.

It won’t be all work: We will also visit the jungles of India in the state of Madhya Pradesh and the legendary Temples of Khajuraho.

More when I return the first week of March.

Best,

W. M.
