Past President Kevin Guille filled in at the club meeting June 27th and gives this report: "It was a great week once again for the Cheyenne Sunrise Rotary Club. Our fearless, outgoing president was out of town, as was our incoming president. I had the privilege of taking the reins and stepping in to lead the meeting. Those in attendance were blessed to hear from Hall
Sawyer on the migration of the mule deer in Western Wyoming. The technology utilized today allows researchers and the public to see the migratory herd’s 150 mile journey through Wyoming. Here is the link for those who are interested in watching  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIAyb-1uwTg.

Bob Thompson was a visiting Rotarian from the Noon Rotary Club. He brought information regarding the annual Palisade Peach fundraiser. For $38.00 we receive a 19lb box of delicious, juicy, sweet, tree ripened peaches. Are you drooling yet? To order, go to www.cheyennerotaryfundraiser.org. We will also have order forms at all the meetings in July.

Rotarians Dorothy and Kathy gave further information on the Thankful Thursday fundraiser. There is an ongoing raffle where the winning ticket will receive $10,000 cash or a dream vacation. Each of the organizations participating in Thankful Thursday this year have the opportunity to sell raffle tickets for additional fundraising chances. There are only 5,000 tickets available as a first come first serve. Our first objective is to sell as many tickets as possible. Dorothy and Kathy will have further information and tickets to distribute at the next several meetings.

Please try to attend Tuesday July 11, 2017 as this is the installation of officers and our opportunity to hear from our incoming president, Roxanne, regarding her goals and vision for the coming year. She is full of so much energy, song and passion for Rotary. We are certainly in for a treat.

The end of June officially marks the conclusion of Brenda Laird’s term as president of our mighty club. Although unplanned, Brenda yet again selflessly stepped into the role of president with the grace we all have come to know. Brenda, these last two years have been a pleasure to watch you lead our club to unimaginable heights. We accomplished much over the last two years of your leadership and our club is stronger because of your unending love for us and Rotary. We all sincerely thank you for your dedication and service.

As a reminder, there is no meeting next Tuesday as we all will be celebrating the 4th of July with our friends and family. I wish you a happy and safe holiday.
