What a great day to be a Rotarian:
A big thank you to our Sunshine Rotarian’s for such a warm welcome to our two visiting Canadian Rotarian’s.  Bob told me it was nice to visit a club with such high energy and doing wonderful service for the community.  We had 23 on the very crisp morning and it was nice to see some missed faces in the crowd.
Several weeks ago I had asked Justin to bring back the “Book for Speakers” program that our friend W.M. Stalcup had graciously done for so long.  Justin agreed.  What I will ask is that each Rotarian brings two new hard bound pre-school through grade school level book to a meeting in September.  If each Rotarian does this we will have our book supplies for a little over a year.  If you don’t want to get a book but would like to just give a donation, please give it to Brenda and she will purchase the books for you.
Additionally, after several years of wonderful help and service Kevin has stepped down from the Service/Social Chair.  Thank you Kevin for all you did, your efforts never went unnoticed.  I asked Mike Wieland if he would be willing to assume the co-chair position and help me with service and social this year.  He graciously accepted.  Thank you Mike.
Our first service project will be helping Veteran’s on September 24, from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.  We will be assisting Produce for Veteran’s project by sorting and delivering leftover produce from the Farmer’s Market to Veterans.  Please meet at the VA at 2 p.m.
Please take a few minutes to go into your ClubRunner account and update your information.  This would be so appreciated by Phil, Kathy and Brenda. Your username is your first and last name separated by a period and the password is csr, short for Cheyenne Sunrise Rotary.
Flu Shots are back.  October 11th will be shot day.  We are looking for help with the vials of serum. You can donate $20 and up to $170, the cost of a vial this year. Thank you to Pat, Larry, Jerry, Randy, Kevin and Brenda for stepping forward already.  This is one of our major fundraisers and we appreciate all help at any level.  The shots will be $30 and you can get your shot on the 11th or stop by Doc’s office.
October 1 is the District Assembly right here at Little America – we would love to have several from the club attend.  Please let Brenda know if you have any questions.
Our new by-laws state that we must have an annual meeting.  At this meeting we nominate officers for the upcoming year and vote for new officers for the Foundation Board.  Please let Brenda know if you are interested in serving.  We are in need of leadership volunteers.  October 11 is our annual meeting.
Congrats go out to Phil and Lynn for having their house selected as a stop on the Tour of Legends home tour this week-end.  $20 will give you the opportunity to see some incredible homes and have the opportunity to help restore the airport fountain built in 1930.
Another big congrats goes out to Earl and June King celebrating 47 years of marriage.  What a precious gift – 47 years with your best friend.  We  look forward to celebrating the big 50 in a couple of years.
