President's message for June 15, 2016

Tuesday, June 14, was a great day to be a Rotarian.
We welcomed our newest member, Justin Kallal. Tim Joannides brought him last week and Justin has decided to join in on our Tuesday morning fun. Welcome Justin.
Our presenter Tuesday was Kari Eakins, Communications Director for the Department of Education. She presented the five goals for the current administration (1) Increase accreditation scores (2) Increase involvement in career and vocational fields (3) Increase involvement with the Hathaway Fund (4) Increase 3rd grade reading proficiency (5) Increase on-line learning opportunities. A room filled with Rotarian's were able to have an vision of education in Wyoming.
No meeting next week. We will have a picnic at Roxanne's after the tournament.
Bring your full piggy's - our goal is $1,000. We are at $650. Please bring your piggy's on the 28th.
In conclusion:
Normally I don't share the inspiration in my update for the week but I will make an exception this week. May your week be filled with happiness and blessed moments appreciating those who are in your life. Brenda
Today as a Rotarian I stand up here wanting desperately to make sense of the tragic ending for so many precious lives in Orlando. I take in my heart so deeply what the families must be feeling and the heavy heart of so many across this nation.
In mass on Sunday Father said that we need to have the change begin with us! I will ask each of you here today to bow your head and quietly say a prayer for the families that have lost someone and say a prayer for God to help each Rotarian to go out today and make a difference and be a piece of what change can and should look like. Our country prides itself on freedom and the opportunity to be ourselves, true and courageous. Stomp your foot and say enough!!
We,as Rotarian's, can and will make a difference, in time, but who we help and what we do is so very important today. Healing will begin by the touch of your hand, a smile, an apology or maybe just a prayer today could make a small change right here.
