What a GREAT day to be a Rotarian.
Today at Sunrise Rotary we celebrated 17 years of the club. Tomorrow marks the 17th Anniversary of this small, wonderful club being a group. Yes, we were chartered as a club September 11, 2002, one year after the 9/11 attacks. We reminisced about some of the fun we have had and projects we have done. Sometimes we get so bogged down with the current moment we forget our history. So many lives in the Cheyenne community have been touched because of our working hands. May we always remember that we make a difference by showing up on Tuesday mornings, we make a difference by helping with a community service project, we make a difference by doing a fundraising project and we make a huge difference by being a Rotarian. Happy Anniversary to us.
Additionally this morning we had a great guest speaker. Kate Wright spoke with us about Habitat for Humanity. For those of us that thought they only built houses, we were surprised. They have a large outreach that goes beyond the two houses they build a year. Kate was thankful for a very active board that supported reaching out and helping others in the community. Habitat for Humanity is our charity of choice for this years Thankful Thursday on September 26. We hope to raise a nice amount to continue helping the needs of a compassionate organization.
Please let Dorothy Jacobsen know if you have any silent auction items for Thankful Thursday. It is coming together and will be here before we know it.
May your week be filled with blessings of hope, humility and HUGS.
