Jason Johnson was born and raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He graduated from Cheyenne East High School in 2006. While in high school, he played basketball, football, and was a member of DECA. Jason graduated from Laramie County Community College with Associate Degrees in Sociology and Pre-Law. He then earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Communication. He graduated summa cum laude and was named the most outstanding Criminal Justice student at the University of Wyoming in 2010. During his college years, he was the assistant manager at the Lincoln Movie Theater and the yard manager at Murdoch’s Ranch and Home Supply.
While in law school, he interned with the City Attorney’s office for the City of Cheyenne and in the Judge’s Chambers for the First Judicial District. In addition to his internships, he was a research assistant for former Wyoming College of Law Dean Steve Easton. He also wrote for the Wyoming Law Review and was published for his work entitled Sub-Dividing the Waters: The Need for an Adequate and Sustainable Water Supply in Exurban Subdivisions.
In his free time, Jason likes to hunt birds and big game. When it isn’t hunting season, you will find Jason fishing, camping, or sport shooting. In addition to doing various outdoor activities, Jason is an avid sports fan and enjoys watching football, basketball, and baseball. Please help us welcome Jason to Cheyenne Sunrise Rotary Club.
